What Is Evangelism?
Evangelism centers on the message that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again, providing the way for forgiveness, reconciliation with God, and eternal life.
It is not about arguments, pressure, or force. Evangelism is about truth spoken in love.
As Christians, we are called to share this message with everyone because God’s salvation is offered to all people—regardless of background, race, age, education, income, or past mistakes.
Evangelism includes:
-
Sharing the message of salvation
-
Explaining the plan of redemption
-
Encouraging repentance and faith
-
Inviting others to respond to Christ
-
Living as a witness through example
-
Depending on the Holy Spirit for guidance and power
Evangelism can happen through personal conversations, written materials, teaching, digital platforms, acts of kindness, or everyday interactions. The method may vary, but the message remains the same.
It is both a privilege and a responsibility for believers. When we share the Gospel, we participate in God’s work of bringing hope, healing, and eternal life to a lost world.
Evangelism is not reserved for pastors or ministers alone. Every believer is called to be a witness of Christ in their daily life.
In simple terms:
Evangelism is faithfully and lovingly telling others about Jesus Christ so they may hear, believe, and receive eternal life.
