Chapter 1: After the death of Ahaziah, his successor, King Ahaziah of Israel, consults a false god and is punished by God.

Chapter 2: Elijah is taken up to heaven in a whirlwind, and Elisha takes up his mantle and carries on his prophetic ministry.

Chapter 3: Jehoram, the king of Israel, forms an alliance with Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, and they go to war against the Moabites.

Chapter 4: Elisha performs several miracles, including the multiplication of oil and the raising of a child from the dead.

Chapter 5: Naaman, a Syrian commander, is healed of his leprosy by Elisha.

Chapter 6: Elisha performs more miracles, including the recovery of a lost axehead and the blinding of an army sent to capture him.

Chapter 7: Samaria is delivered from a siege by the Syrians, and the prophet's prediction of a sudden abundance of food comes true.

Chapter 8: Elisha foretells the death of Ben-Hadad, king of Syria, and anoints Hazael to succeed him. Jehoram becomes king of Judah, and he reigns in wickedness.

Chapter 9: Jehu is anointed king of Israel and executes a violent coup against the house of Ahab. He also kills Jezebel, the queen mother.

Chapter 10: Jehu eliminates the entire house of Ahab and purges Israel of the worship of Baal. However, he is criticized for not following God with his whole heart.

Chapter 11: Athaliah, the mother of Ahaziah, usurps the throne of Judah, but is overthrown by the priest Jehoiada and the rightful king, Joash.

Chapter 12: Joash becomes king of Judah and initiates repairs to the temple. However, he falls into sin and is eventually assassinated.

Chapter 13: Jehoahaz becomes king of Israel, but the nation continues to struggle against the Syrians. Elisha prophesies that Joash will defeat the Syrians three times, and this comes to pass.

Chapter 14: Amaziah becomes king of Judah and defeats the Edomites, but is later defeated by the king of Israel, Jehoash. Jeroboam II becomes king of Israel and reigns in wickedness.

Chapter 15: Uzziah becomes king of Judah and reigns in righteousness, but is later struck with leprosy. Several kings come and go in Israel, and the Assyrians begin to invade.

Chapter 16: Ahaz becomes king of Judah and turns to idolatry. He also makes an alliance with the Assyrians, who eventually invade and conquer Israel.

Chapter 17: The Assyrians conquer Samaria and deport the Israelites to other parts of their empire. This marks the end of the northern kingdom of Israel.

Chapter 18: Hezekiah becomes king of Judah and initiates a series of reforms to restore the worship of God. He also repels an invasion by the Assyrians.

Chapter 19: The Assyrian king Sennacherib threatens Jerusalem, but God delivers the city through a miraculous intervention.

Chapter 20: Hezekiah becomes ill and prays for healing. God grants him an additional 15 years of life, and Hezekiah shows off his wealth to envoys from Babylon.

Chapter 21: Manasseh becomes king of Judah and leads the nation into idolatry and sin. God sends prophets to warn him, but he does not repent.

Chapter 22: Josiah becomes king of Judah and initiates a widespread reform of the nation's worship. During repairs to the temple, the book of the law is discovered.

Chapter 23: Josiah carries out a thorough purge of idolatry and sin from Judah, including the destruction of idols and the reinstitution of the Passover. However, he is killed in battle.

Chapter 24: Several kings come and go in Judah, and the nation falls under the domination of Babylon. Jehoiachin is taken captive to Babylon, along with many of the leading citizens of Jerusalem.

Chapter 25: The Babylonians destroy Jerusalem and the temple, and take the remaining inhabitants captive to Babylon. However, a remnant of the people is eventually allowed to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the temple.

What Is Evangelism?  Evangelism is the intentional and loving act of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with others. It is the clear communication of God’s plan of salvation so that people can hear, understand, and respond to the Gospel. Evangelism centers on the message that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again , providing the way for forgiveness, reconciliation with God, and eternal life. It is not about arguments, pressure, or force. Evangelism is about truth spoken in love . As Christians, we are called to share this message with everyone because God’s salvation is offered to all people—regardless of background, race, age, education, income, or past mistakes. The Basics of Evangelizing  Listed here are three foundational suggestions for evangelizing. You must be saved. You must pray that the holy spirit takes control. You must study God's word. There is truly no strict right or wrong method—these are simply practical guidelines to help us think intentionally about sharing the Gospel. When reaching out to lost souls, it can be helpful to consider the basic questions: What? When? Where? Why? How? These questions help us become more thoughtful and effective in our approach. What? What is the message we are sharing? The message is the Good News of Jesus Christ and God’s Plan of Salvation. When? When should we share? We share whenever God opens the door—during daily conversations, planned opportunities, or unexpected moments. Where? Where can we share?
