Chapter 1: David is old and his son Adonijah tries to take the throne, but Bathsheba and Nathan convince David to make Solomon king.

Chapter 2: David dies and Solomon becomes king. He has his brother Adonijah executed and deals with other political threats.

Chapter 3: Solomon asks God for wisdom and discernment, and God grants him great wisdom. Solomon becomes known for his wisdom and wealth.

Chapter 4: Solomon appoints officials and governors to help him rule, and the kingdom of Israel prospers under his leadership.

Chapter 5: Solomon begins building the temple in Jerusalem with the help of King Hiram of Tyre.

Chapter 6: The temple is completed and dedicated to God. It is described in great detail.

Chapter 7: Solomon builds his own palace and other structures in Jerusalem. He also builds ships and engages in trade with other countries.

Chapter 8: The Ark of the Covenant is brought into the temple and Solomon prays a long prayer of dedication. God promises to bless the temple and the people of Israel if they obey him.

Chapter 9: God appears to Solomon and renews his promise to bless the kingdom if they remain faithful. Solomon continues to build and expand his kingdom.

Chapter 10: The queen of Sheba visits Solomon to learn from his wisdom and see his wealth. She is impressed and praises God.

Chapter 11: Solomon marries many foreign women who turn his heart away from God. He begins to worship their gods and his kingdom falls into decline.

Chapter 12: Solomon's son Rehoboam becomes king but he makes a foolish decision and the kingdom splits into two - Israel (Northern Kingdom) and Judah (Southern Kingdom).

Chapter 13: A prophet confronts Jeroboam, the king of Israel, and predicts the downfall of his kingdom.

Chapter 14: Abijah, the son of Jeroboam, becomes ill and seeks the help of a prophet. The prophet predicts the downfall of Jeroboam's family.

Chapter 15: The reigns of various kings in both Israel and Judah are described, including Abijam, Asa, Baasha, and Elah.

Chapter 16: The reigns of various kings in Israel are described, including Omri, Ahab, and Jezebel. Ahab marries Jezebel, a foreign queen who encourages him to worship Baal.

Chapter 17: The prophet Elijah appears and predicts a drought. He is fed by ravens and later performs a miracle for a widow in Zarephath.

Chapter 18: Elijah confronts Ahab and the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel. He calls down fire from heaven and the people repent and turn back to God.

Chapter 19: Jezebel threatens to kill Elijah, and he flees to Horeb where God appears to him and reassures him.

Chapter 20: Ahab defeats Ben-Hadad, the king of Aram, in battle but later makes a treaty with him. A prophet warns Ahab of his impending doom.

Chapter 21: Ahab covets the vineyard of Naboth and Jezebel arranges for Naboth to be falsely accused and stoned. Elijah confronts Ahab and predicts his downfall.

Chapter 22: Ahab goes to war against Aram and is killed. Jehoshaphat becomes king of Judah.

What Is Evangelism?  Evangelism is the intentional and loving act of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with others. It is the clear communication of God’s plan of salvation so that people can hear, understand, and respond to the Gospel. Evangelism centers on the message that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again , providing the way for forgiveness, reconciliation with God, and eternal life.
