These notes are for the encouragement of the study of God's word daily, (only to be used/read with your Bible.) Not a Bible replacement.

The book of Luke is known for its emphasis on Jesus' compassion for the marginalized and outcasts, as well as its focus on prayer and the Holy Spirit.

Chapter 1: Births of John the Baptist and Jesus foretold, Mary's visit to Elizabeth, and the Magnificat

Chapter 2: Birth of Jesus, visit of the shepherds, presentation at the temple, and Jesus as a boy in the temple

Chapter 3: Ministry of John the Baptist, baptism of Jesus, and genealogy of Jesus

Chapter 4: Temptation of Jesus, Jesus begins His ministry in Galilee, and rejection in Nazareth

Chapter 5: Miraculous catch of fish, healing of a leper, healing of a paralyzed man, calling of Levi (Matthew)

Chapter 6: Healing of a man with a withered hand, teaching on the Sabbath, calling of the twelve apostles, and teachings on love and judging others

Chapter 7: Healing of a centurion's servant, raising of a widow's son, and John the Baptist's question and Jesus' reply

Chapter 8: Parable of the sower, healing of a demon-possessed man, raising of Jairus' daughter, and healing of a woman with bleeding

Chapter 9: Sending out of the twelve apostles, feeding of the five thousand, Peter's confession of Jesus as the Messiah, and Jesus predicts His death and resurrection

Chapter 10: Sending out of the seventy-two, parable of the good Samaritan, and Mary and Martha

Chapter 11: Teaching on prayer, casting out a demon, and woes to the Pharisees and experts in the law

Chapter 12: Teaching on hypocrisy and the fear of God, parable of the rich fool, teaching on worry, and the coming of the Son of Man

Chapter 13: Teaching on repentance and the narrow door, healing of a woman on the Sabbath, and lament over Jerusalem

Chapter 14: Healing of a man with dropsy, parables of the great banquet and the cost of discipleship

Chapter 15: Parables of the lost sheep, lost coin, and prodigal son

Chapter 16: Parable of the shrewd manager, teaching on divorce and the rich man and Lazarus

Chapter 17: Teaching on forgiveness and the coming of the kingdom of God, healing of ten lepers

Chapter 18: Parable of the persistent widow, blessing of the children, and the rich young ruler

Chapter 19: Zacchaeus, parable of the ten minas, and triumphal entry into Jerusalem

Chapter 20: Question about Jesus' authority, parable of the tenants, and question about paying taxes to Caesar

Chapter 21: Widow's offering, Olivet Discourse - Jesus predicts the destruction of the temple and His second coming

Chapter 22: Last supper, betrayal by Judas, Peter's denial, and Jesus' trial before the Sanhedrin

Chapter 23: Jesus' trial before Pilate, crucifixion, death, and burial

Chapter 24: Resurrection and appearance to the disciples on the road to Emmaus, ascension, and Great Commission

What Is Evangelism?  Evangelism is the intentional and loving act of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with others. It is the clear communication of God’s plan of salvation so that people can hear, understand, and respond to the Gospel. Evangelism centers on the message that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again , providing the way for forgiveness, reconciliation with God, and eternal life. It is not about arguments, pressure, or force. Evangelism is about truth spoken in love . As Christians, we are called to share this message with everyone because God’s salvation is offered to all people—regardless of background, race, age, education, income, or past mistakes.
