Joel Brief Study Notes

The Book of Joel is a prophetic book in the Old Testament of the Bible. It is attributed to the prophet Joel and is written to the people of Judah during a time of great devastation, including a locust plague and a drought.

The book can be divided into two main parts:

Chapters 1-2 describe the devastation caused by the locusts and the drought, and call the people to repentance and fasting. Joel uses this natural disaster to warn the people of Judah of the coming Day of the Lord, a time of judgment when God will punish the wicked and reward the righteous.
Chapters 2-3 describe the future restoration of Judah and the coming of the Messiah. Joel prophesies that God will pour out His Spirit on all people and that there will be signs and wonders in the heavens and on earth. He also warns of the judgment of the nations that have mistreated Judah and calls for repentance and faithfulness to God.

Overall, the book of Joel is a message of hope in the midst of devastation. It reminds us of God's faithfulness to His people, even in times of trial and hardship, and calls us to repentance and faithfulness as we await the coming of the Day of the Lord.
